Post-wise eligibility and monthly salary
- Lecturer (Clinical Psychology), Consultant — one post: MPhil in Clinical Psychology and valid RCI registration. Consolidated salary: ₹60,000 per month.
- Tutor–Clinical Assistant (Occupational Therapy), Consultant — one post: a recognised graduate degree in Occupational Therapy with at least three years of teaching, clinical or research experience; OR a recognised postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy. Consolidated salary: ₹50,000 per month.
- Rehabilitation Officer–Therapeutics, Consultant — one post: a recognised graduate degree in Physiotherapy with at least two years of relevant experience; OR a recognised bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy with at least two years of relevant experience. Consolidated salary: ₹50,000 per month.
Experience working with persons with multiple disabilities is desirable for the Occupational Therapy Tutor and Rehabilitation Officer roles. It does not replace their essential qualifications. The notice invites eligible Indian nationals. The maximum age for all three posts is 56 years, calculated on the closing date for receipt of applications.
Closing date and current application status
The official recruitment index gives 13 November 2026 as the closing date for notification 07/2026. The linked application portal lists all three positions as Open with the same date. The PDF describes the deadline as within 21 days of publication in Employment News; applicants should follow the current official index and portal and monitor any corrigendum. A precise closing hour is not stated in the reviewed material.
Full-time contractual terms
These are full-time consultant engagements. The appointee cannot take another commercial assignment during the consultancy. Initial appointment ordinarily does not exceed three years. Renewal within three years depends on performance appraisal; extension beyond three years needs Governing Council approval, and the total cannot exceed five years. These limits are not a promise that every appointment will last five years.
The notice provides a fixed monthly amount regulated by the contract, with no other allowances. It states a 3% annual increment during the contract and paid absence of 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Selected candidates may work at NIEPMD Chennai or its sub-centres and outreach centres and may be transferred to NIEPMD-controlled offices anywhere in India. WFH is not advertised.
The competent authority may terminate the engagement with 30 days’ notice. A consultant wishing to resign must give 30 days’ advance notice or remuneration in lieu. Assignments may support the institute and DEPwD objectives, so applicants should assess the full-time and possible-transfer conditions before applying.
Application fee
The application fee is ₹590 including GST, payable online through RTGS, NEFT or IMPS under the official instructions. SC, ST, PwD, female and transgender applicants are exempt. The institute does not accept another payment mode. If applying for more than one post or discipline, submit a separate online application with the applicable fee proof for each. Use only the payment instructions supplied by the official portal.
How to apply
- Open the complete original notification 07/2026. Match your qualification and experience to the specific post.
- Use Apply Online in the official recruitment index, which leads to the NIEPMD application portal.
- Sign in through Applicant Login, select the correct position under 07/2026 and follow the online process.
- Include the required documents and applicable fee proof; incomplete applications can be rejected. Submit before 13 November 2026.
- Keep the application acknowledgement and check the official institute website for later instructions or changes.
Selection and practical preparation
The reviewed notice does not disclose a fixed test or interview timetable. Do not assume shortlisting or appointment merely from meeting minimum qualifications. The institute reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertisement, and the notice says the examination fee is not refundable if notified vacancies are cancelled. Canvassing or political or official influence can disqualify an applicant.
As Jobsii preparation advice, organise your degree documents, experience dates and RCI registration where required. Keep essential and desirable conditions separate: for example, a postgraduate OT qualification is an alternative to the Tutor’s graduate-plus-experience route, whereas the Rehabilitation Officer routes both require two years of relevant experience. This explanation does not create new eligibility criteria.
