Non-Faculty Recruitment – 37 Vacancies
National Institute of Technology Raipur has advertised 37 regular non-faculty posts through direct recruitment. Advertisement No. NITRR/R-1/Advt./2026/1035, dated 29 September 2026, covers administrative, technical and office-support positions. NIT Raipur is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Online applications opened on 1 October and close on 30 October 2026 at 11:59 p.m. IST. This is not one common eligibility category: applicants must match the particular post, technical specialization and reservation conditions before applying. The recruitment is based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh; the notice does not advertise these positions as work-from-home opportunities.
Posts, vacancies, pay levels and upper age limits
| Post | Vacancies | Pay level | Upper age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Superintendent | 4 | Level 6 | 30 years |
| Technical Assistant | 13 | Level 6 | 30 years |
| Senior Assistant | 1 | Level 4 | 33 years |
| Senior Technician | 1 | Level 4 | 33 years |
| Technician | 15 | Level 3 | 27 years |
| Office Attendant | 3 | Level 1 | 27 years |
The pay figures are the post-specific levels in the Seventh Central Pay Commission structure, not a single advertised take-home salary. The upper ages above are the notice's base limits; eligible category or other permitted relaxations must be checked separately. The institute reserves the right to change the number of vacancies or not fill some positions.
Who can apply?
The recruitment invites Indian nationals. For Superintendent, the essential qualification is a first-class bachelor's degree in any discipline, or a master's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent. Knowledge of computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets, is also required.
Senior Assistant requires senior secondary, or 10+2, from a recognised board, a minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute, and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets. Office Attendant requires senior secondary, or 10+2, from a recognised board. These distinct requirements should not be combined into a general claim that every applicant needs an engineering degree.
Technical Assistant qualifications depend on the advertised specialization. The notice covers areas including geology, architecture and planning, biotechnology, chemical and civil engineering, chemistry, computer science, metallurgy and materials, and physics. Some specializations require a specified first-class BE/BTech; science posts have their own bachelor's or master's conditions. For Computer Science and Engineering, the notice lists first-class BE/BTech in CSE or IT, or MCA, and also a specified first-class CSE/IT diploma route with the stated Class 10 condition.
Senior Technician is the Chemistry post and requires 10+2 with Science, including Chemistry, with at least 60% marks from a government-recognised board. Technician requirements vary by department: the prescribed routes include particular diploma disciplines, ITI trades and school qualifications with minimum marks. A generic ITI or diploma certificate does not make a candidate eligible for every technical vacancy. Read the exact department row in the detailed advertisement.
Eligibility date, reservation and certificates
Age, qualifications and experience are assessed on the closing date for online applications, or the revised deadline if an extension is officially issued. The notice provides five years' upper-age relaxation for SC/ST and three years for OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates for posts earmarked for those categories. Candidates applying against unreserved posts must not assume that the same category concessions apply.
OBC-NCL and EWS candidates should check the requirement for certificates issued on or after 1 April 2026. PwBD, departmental and ex-servicemen concessions are governed by the stated rules and supporting documents. Applicants already employed in government, PSUs or autonomous organisations need the prescribed No Objection Certificate at certificate verification.
Application fee: charged for each post and specialization
- UR/OBC-NCL/EWS: Rs. 2,360, comprising Rs. 2,000 plus 18% GST.
- SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 1,770, comprising Rs. 1,500 plus 18% GST.
The fee is non-refundable. It is payable per post and per specialization. Applying for more than one post, or more than one specialization under a post, requires separate forms and fees. Bank transaction charges are borne by the applicant. An application for one post or specialization cannot be transferred to another.
How selection is proposed to work
The advertisement describes a tentative screening-test process. Superintendent and Senior Assistant also have a qualifying skill-test stage; the listed technical and Office Attendant positions have screening tests under the stated scheme. The proposed objective screening test has 100 questions, 100 marks and a two-hour duration, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
General and domain-specific syllabi differ by role. The institute may use shortlisting criteria and higher cutoffs. The final selection method will be communicated through call letters, so the indicative scheme is not a guarantee of a fixed test date or automatic interview.
