Young Professional (Non-ICT) Grade 1
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is inviting applications to prepare a panel of Young Professionals in the Non-ICT Grade 1 category. The consolidated remuneration for this grade is ₹70,000 per month. The online form closes on 27 October 2026 at 5:30 p.m. IST.
This is a contractual government opportunity, not an internship or permanent civil-service appointment. It is also a panel exercise: empanelment does not itself guarantee engagement. This article covers Grade 1, not the separate Grade 2 category shown on the application form.

Eligibility for the Grade 1 category
The notice specifies a master's degree in Economics, Law (LLM), Management (MBA/PGDM), Engineering (MTech) or Commerce (MCom), or a professional qualification such as CA, ICWA or CS. Applicants must check that their precise qualification satisfies the original wording. A general bachelor's degree alone should not be assumed sufficient for this Grade 1 opening.
A minimum of one year of experience after the essential qualification is required. The live application form states that this experience is assessed as on 1 October 2026. For PhD holders, up to three years of the PhD period may be considered as experience where the person was not doing another job or work during that period. Do not count the same period twice.
The upper age limit for Grade 1 is 32 years as on 1 July 2026, and the opportunity is for Indian citizens. Dates used for age and experience are different; applicants should calculate both carefully rather than using the application closing date for every condition.
What the panel and contract mean
DPIIT is preparing a panel for engagement as requirements arise, rather than promising every eligible applicant an immediate vacancy. The panel is valid for one year from the result. Selection, empanelment and actual engagement are separate stages, and a place on the panel is not a guarantee of an appointment.
The initial engagement is for one year. Extensions are conditional and considered year by year, with a maximum total period of three years. The guidelines do not create a right to permanent government employment or automatic regularisation. Candidates should be comfortable with a time-limited professional assignment before applying.
Pay and office arrangements
Grade 1 carries ₹70,000 consolidated monthly remuneration. Payment follows the prescribed performance-certification process. The guidelines provide for a ten-percent annual increment subject to satisfactory completion and applicable conditions; it is not an unconditional increase promised at the time of application.
The assignment is associated with DPIIT in New Delhi, including Vanijya Bhavan. Normal office timing is 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with additional work beyond normal hours or on holidays possible when required. This is not advertised as a work-from-home role. Applicants should consider their ability to attend the office rather than equating an online application with remote employment.
Selection and documents
The stated selection framework gives weight to academic qualifications, experience and interview performance: fifty percent, twenty percent and thirty percent respectively. Meeting the minimum qualification is not a promise of selection. Read the complete guidelines for the assessment process and supporting evidence.
The form asks for educational records, qualification completion date and work-experience details with PDF evidence. Where marks are given in CGPA, enter the equivalent percentage using the relevant institution's conversion formula. The guidelines require percentages to two decimal places without rounding; keep documentary support for the conversion.
Applicants may apply in only one Young Professional category. Current employees covered by the notice's NOC requirement should obtain the appropriate clearance. Engagement also remains subject to document, medical and police verification and the contractual confidentiality, conflict-of-interest and termination conditions in the official guidelines.
How to apply and avoid common errors
Use DPIIT's own online form, choose Non-ICT Grade 1 if that is the category for which you qualify, and check every date and document before submitting. The form contains personal-information, qualification and experience sections followed by verification. Jobsii does not collect these application documents or submit the application on your behalf.
Do not wait until the final minutes on 27 October. Review the complete notice through the official programme page and retain the acknowledgement provided by the application system. This summary explains the principal Grade 1 conditions; it does not replace the department's detailed contractual guidelines or guarantee an engagement.
