MECL Recruitment 2026 - 122 Non-Executive Posts by Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL)

MECL Recruitment 2026 – 122 Non-Executive Posts

11 Oct 2026

Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), a Miniratna-I public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, has invited applications for non-executive posts through Advertisement No. 03/Rectt./2026. The post-wise vacancy table totals 122 positions across accounts, materials, IT, HR, surveying, laboratory work, drilling, mechanical trades, driving and other support functions.

Online registration opened on 12 September 2026 and closes on 11 October 2026. This is a recruitment drive for jobs, not an internship or apprenticeship intake. Some posts do not require previous experience, while others require specific post-qualification experience, licences or certificates. Candidates must choose carefully because the advertisement allows one applicant to apply for only one post.

Fresh and backlog vacancies are both included. Several posts have specific category, PwBD or ex-servicemen reservations. For example, all twelve Technician (Drilling) vacancies are marked for ex-servicemen within the stated backlog categories. Do not assume the overall total represents 122 unrestricted vacancies available to every applicant.

Which posts may suit candidates without experience?

The experience column states that experience is not required for Assistant (Materials), Assistant (Accounts), Stenographer (English), Assistant (Hindi), Assistant (IT) and Assistant (HR). Their educational and other essential requirements still apply; a fresher cannot bypass a shorthand certificate or a specified subject combination.

For Assistant (IT), the listed degree routes include BCA, BCS, BCCA, relevant BSc computer disciplines and BISM. The alternative is graduation in any stream with the specified minimum one-year diploma completed after graduation, or postgraduate diploma, in IT, Computer Science or Computer Applications. It is not an unrestricted opening for every graduate with basic computer knowledge.

One year of relevant experience is described as desirable for Technician (Survey), Technician (Sampling) and Technician (Laboratory). By contrast, Accountant requires three years of relevant accounts experience after passing CA/ICWA intermediate. Electrician, Machinist, drilling/mechanic roles and Junior Driver have their own one-year experience conditions. Match the required duties and the date from which experience is counted, not just the total time spent working.

Minimum marks and qualification rules

The notice specifies a minimum of 45% in the essential qualifications for non-executive recruitment. Qualifications such as CA/ICWA intermediate and certifications for which no minimum qualifying marks are stipulated require a pass. A higher qualification does not automatically substitute for a missing essential qualification.

Recognised qualifications and, where relevant, the specified UGC/AICTE approval conditions apply. Certain graduate-post entries expressly permit open and distance-learning degrees. Candidates with CGPA or grades must use their institution's official conversion rules and retain proof of the conversion method.

Training, internships or articleship undertaken as part of an academic curriculum are not counted as experience. The advertisement separately permits consideration of qualifying apprenticeship training of at least one year for specified ITI apprentices holding a National Apprenticeship Certificate, subject to clause 8(xxvii). This is a conditional exception, not blanket acceptance of every internship certificate.

Age limit and reservation documents

Age, qualifications and relevant experience are assessed as on 1 September 2026. The general maximum age is thirty years. The notice provides five years of age relaxation for SC/ST and three years for eligible OBC-NCL candidates. PwBD concessions are ten years for General, thirteen for OBC-NCL and fifteen for SC/ST, subject to the applicable provisions.

Ex-servicemen and specified internal or former MECL workers have separate conditions. OBC-NCL applicants must pay particular attention to the certificate requirement: the notice specifies a current-financial-year certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026, together with the required non-creamy-layer declaration. Category details must be supported by valid documents and should not be selected casually.

Pay scales, benefits and posting

  • Accountant, W-7: ₹22,900-55,900 IDA pay scale.
  • W-4 posts: ₹20,200-49,300 IDA pay scale.
  • Junior Driver, W-3: ₹19,600-47,900 IDA pay scale.

These are pay scales, not guaranteed take-home salaries or starting salaries equal to the top of the range. The notice also lists benefits such as IDA, HRA, allowances, provident fund, retirement-related provisions and insurance according to company rules.

Posting can be at MECL projects, offices or establishments anywhere in India and/or overseas as required. This is not advertised as work-from-home recruitment. The careers page also advises applicants that field locations may involve difficult conditions and fewer amenities than cities. Appointees undergo probation for at least one year, with confirmation governed by the notified process.

Selection process and examination

  1. Screening of the application against the advertised eligibility requirements.
  2. Written competitive examination.
  3. Document verification for shortlisted candidates.
  4. Qualifying skill or trade test, as applicable to the post.

The advertisement gives the written examination 100% weightage for merit. Its stated minimum written-test standards are 50% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and 45% for SC/ST, with relaxed standards for PwD under applicable government guidelines. These examination standards are separate from the 45% academic-qualification requirement.

Document-verification shortlisting is ordinarily up to seven candidates per vacancy, subject to the eligible pool and approvals. The skill/trade test assesses suitability and is qualifying; final merit among suitable candidates is based on written-test marks.

The detailed advertisement specifies Nagpur for the tests. Candidates should nevertheless follow the final call letter and any subsequent MECL instructions for venue and reporting arrangements. Travel allowance is not payable for attending the notified selection stages. Appointment also depends on medical fitness; specified driving and operational trades have explicit colour-vision and night-vision requirements.

Application fee and important dates

General, OBC and EWS candidates pay a registration fee of ₹500 through the designated payment gateway. SC, ST, PwD, ex-servicemen and departmental candidates are exempt under the advertisement. Bank transaction charges, where applicable, are borne by the applicant. The instructions describe the fee as non-refundable.

The live application portal confirms registration and fee payment through 11 October 2026. It lists 26 October 2026 as the last date for printing an application. The later printing date is not an extension of the application deadline.

How to apply through the official website

Start at the official MECL Careers page and locate Advertisement 03/Rectt./2026 under Advertisement Notices and Results. The page links to the designated IBPS-hosted MECL application portal.

  1. Read the full advertisement and choose the single post for which you meet all conditions.
  2. Register with a working email address and mobile number; save your registration details securely.
  3. Enter personal, educational, category and relevant employment information exactly as supported by your documents.
  4. Upload the required images and supporting certificates according to the portal's specifications.
  5. Preview every entry before completing registration, then pay the applicable fee and submit.
  6. Save the final application and payment receipt. No printed application needs to be sent to MECL.

The additional official instructions require a photograph, signature, left-thumb impression and handwritten declaration, and describe a live-photograph capture step. Use the declaration wording and image specifications provided there. The advertisement lists identity, qualification, category and experience documents, with specified PDF groups limited to 500 KB each.

Review details before selecting Complete Registration: the instructions warn that changes will not be entertained after that step. Applicants employed in government, PSUs or covered organisations must follow the proper-channel/NOC requirements. For portal difficulties, the notice directs candidates to the IBPS helpdesk, available on working days from 9:30 AM to 6 PM.

Before submitting

Check the exact post code, reservation eligibility, cut-off date, recognised qualification, experience evidence and required licences together. Meeting one condition does not waive the others. Monitor MECL's careers page for amendments and shortlisted-candidate notices, and ignore anyone promising selection in exchange for payment.

Verified on 18 September 2026 using the official 18-page advertisement, the additional online-examination instructions, MECL Careers and the live application portal. The original notice and later official amendments govern the recruitment.
