Eligibility
The minimum qualification is a PhD in any branch of Life Sciences. The work-experience section specifies protein biochemistry, molecular-biology techniques, cell-culture assays, protein expression and purification, and cellular signalling. Although the section is headed “Desirable work experience”, its text says this prior experience is required. Applicants should address these capabilities directly. X-ray crystallography or cryo-EM experience is preferred but not essential.
Role and relevant work
- Contribute to research in the GPCR Biology laboratory.
- Bring practical protein-biochemistry and molecular-biology expertise to the advertised research position.
- Use relevant cell-assay, protein-expression, purification and signalling experience.
- Offer crystallography or cryo-EM capability where available, while recognising that these are preferred rather than essential.
Compensation and appointment terms
The salary is ₹67,000 per month. The appointment is initially one year and may be extended based on performance for the remaining project duration. The source does not separately specify HRA or another allowance, so no additional pay has been assumed. It is a project research appointment rather than a permanent faculty or staff recruitment.
How to apply
Send a brief CV by email to gpcrbiology2020@gmail.com. The official notice explicitly says a hard-copy application or degree certificate is not required at this stage. Apply by the extended deadline of 15 November 2026. The notice does not give a closing hour. Use the exact current notice linked below to check for any further update.
Preparing the required material
In the CV, make the research techniques you have used and your own contribution to a project easy to identify. A focused description of protein work, assays or cellular signalling is more relevant than an unsupported claim of broad expertise. This is editorial advice, not a requirement to send additional certificates contrary to the notice’s initial-stage instructions.
Selection and other conditions
Selected candidates will be interviewed online. Applicants who do not meet the qualification and experience criteria will not be called. No TA/DA will be paid. The notice does not state a numerical age limit, fee or guaranteed interview date. Recruitment decisions remain with IIT Kanpur.
Use advertisement P.Rect./R&D/2026/212 when identifying this opportunity. Its original posting date is 26 October 2026, as recorded in the institution’s recruitment index. Jobsii shares the official opportunity and does not conduct recruitment.
