A technical internship within digital health
PATH is a global nonprofit working on health equity. This role sits within its Digital Health, AI & MedTech team and combines research, software-related work, analysis and programme deliverables. Working with public-health stakeholders does not make the position a government appointment.
The learning goals include understanding the digital-health and MedTech ecosystem in India and globally, conducting research and data analysis, and preparing technical reports, briefs and presentations. Applicants should expect a mixture of technical and communication tasks rather than assume the internship is limited to coding or model training.
Projects and deliverables
Responsibilities include technical research and landscape assessments of emerging digital-health, AI, interoperability and software solutions. The intern supports the design and development of full-stack web applications, dashboards, AI-enabled applications and health-information systems according to project requirements.
System and solution design can cover architecture, data flows, databases, APIs, integration architecture, interoperability frameworks and technology-stack selection. Testing duties include software testing, User Acceptance Testing, quality assurance, issue tracking, technical validation and preparing or reviewing scenarios, test cases and traceability documentation.
The AI/data work can involve natural-language processing, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, analytics, forecasting and intelligent reporting. The team also needs support for technical proposals, concept notes, donor submissions, implementation methods and other technical narratives. Other technical or programme tasks may be assigned. The posting describes areas of work, not a guarantee that every intern will own every listed system.
Eligibility and skills
Applicants should have completed graduation. Candidates pursuing or having completed a relevant master’s degree, with MCA, MTech, MBA, MPH and MHA given as examples, are also eligible. The source requires legal authorisation to work in India. This condition must not be replaced by a general all-nationalities or automatic-visa-support claim.
The employer seeks exposure to AI/ML, NLP, data analytics, digital public infrastructure and digital-health standards or interoperability frameworks. It also asks for experience in digital-health solution design, software or web applications, architecture, implementation, integration and interoperability. Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, good communication and strong self-motivation are included.
High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word, presentation ability, teamwork and independent working are important. Candidates should be able to handle ambiguity and a fast-paced environment. No fixed graduation batch, specific CGPA or numerical years-of-experience threshold is published in the accessed description.
Practical terms and preparation
The internship is full time for three months in New Delhi, with three positions. A remote or hybrid policy and stipend amount are not disclosed. Do not infer pay from external estimates or assume remote work because some duties are digital. Ask the hiring team about daily attendance, start date and compensation before accepting.
For optional preparation, choose examples showing a technical decision, an analysis and a clear written or presentation deliverable. Explain your own contribution and any data-protection precautions in health-related work. These are editorial suggestions, not extra selection conditions. Applications are rolling, so the stated closing date should not be treated as a guarantee that every position remains available until the last day.
