Frontend Developer Intern | Remote
Offset is recruiting a remote Frontend Developer Intern to build interfaces for a platform connecting industrial and carbon-related data with its source documents. The employer-authored advertisement describes a full-time, three-month placement, working directly with a backend engineer and the founder.
The starting monthly stipend is ₹10,000–12,500, depending on the agreed work. It can rise to ₹15,000 if agreed milestones are reached. The higher amount is conditional, not the guaranteed starting stipend. A mandatory application assessment and specific weekday communication expectations are important parts of the opportunity.

Frontend work
The product handles messy source material such as PDFs, images, spreadsheets and CSV files. The interface needs to connect values with document evidence, help reviewers inspect them and preserve a useful history of changes. The emphasis is a working review process, not a decorative dashboard alone.
Examples include upload and validation flows, document viewers with highlighted bounding boxes, side-by-side value review, approval or rejection actions and an audit trail. The work also covers manual entry, tables with filtering and sorting, record history and role-based views for uploaders, reviewers, approvers and administrators.
The employer expects incremental delivery and independent ownership. Screens should support the real workflow and handle errors rather than only work with ideal demonstration data. The advertisement does not promise that an intern will independently own all backend or infrastructure work.
Skills
Strong React and TypeScript ability is relevant, along with Tailwind or a component library, REST API integration, forms and loading/error states. Practical side projects, clear updates and the ability to ship useful changes matter to the employer.
Experience with PDF.js or react-pdf, Canvas or SVG, charting and tools such as Vitest or Playwright is a bonus. These additional tools should not all be advertised as mandatory qualifications when the source treats them as advantages.
Communication and trial terms
Core weekday overlap is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. IST, with replies expected within two hours during that window. Two fixed weekly syncs are mandatory. The employer says missing them without notice can end the internship. Remote work therefore does not mean completely asynchronous working.
The first four weeks are a paid trial. The source says either side can end it, with pay for days worked and a certificate covering that period. It also states a commitment to paying the stipend by the fifth of the month. Confirm these individual terms in writing before accepting.
Successful completion of three months may lead to recommendation and portfolio support, with priority for a possible full-time role. Permanent conversion is not guaranteed. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not offered, even though the listing describes remote hiring broadly.
Mandatory application task
Applicants must build a small React application, with TypeScript preferred, that accepts a PDF or image invoice and displays it in a browser document viewer. Mock JSON should provide fields and bounding boxes. Selecting a field should highlight its document location, while approve/edit actions should preserve old and new values with a timestamped change history. Drawing a manual box is a bonus.
The submission requires a GitHub repository, a deployed working link, a Loom walkthrough of no more than two minutes and one suggested improvement. The time limit is 72 hours from applying. This is a candidate-specific assessment deadline, not an advertised closing date for the vacancy. Applications without the task are not reviewed.
How to apply
- Read the complete Offset frontend internship advertisement.
- Check the assessment, trial, pay milestones and communication rules.
- Apply through the listing and complete the required task within its time limit.
- Share only code and sample documents you may disclose; remove credentials and private records.
The private startup describes government recognition and incubation support, but those do not make it a government employer. The source displayed a posting age of three days when checked on 21 October 2026. No vacancy closing date is disclosed. Jobsii does not guarantee selection, milestone increases or a permanent job.
