Altiosoft is hiring a motivated cybersecurity intern to strengthen information security across modern SaaS and cloud-based architectures. Reporting to the Cybersecurity Lead / Information Security Manager, the role covers hands-on monitoring, vulnerability work, secure configuration reviews, incident response, policy maintenance, automation and cross-team collaboration, with mentorship in a fast-moving environment.
Role overview and responsibilities
- Monitoring and analysis: Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events, logs and alerts using SIEM and EDR to detect potential threats, triage alerts and support investigations.
- Vulnerability assessment: Support scanning, reporting, remediation tracking and verification of fixes to ensure vulnerabilities are identified and corrected.
- Secure configuration reviews: Work on reviews of systems, networks and cloud infrastructure configurations to confirm secure baselines are applied.
- Incident response participation: Take part in triage, investigation, documentation, containment and lessons-learned activities during incidents to help restore and strengthen controls.
- Policy and awareness maintenance: Help maintain and update security policies, standards, procedures and awareness materials to support organizational compliance and education.
- Tool evaluation and automation: Contribute to security tool evaluations, proofs-of-concept and automation efforts, including scripting repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
- Cross-team security collaboration: Work with development, DevOps, operations and QA teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle and operations.
- Threat research and reporting: Research current cybersecurity threats, attack vectors and emerging trends and present findings to the team.
- Documentation and metrics: Assist with security dashboards, metrics, audit logs and compiling compliance evidence to support reporting and audits.
Qualifications, candidate profile and benefits
- Academic background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or related field.
- Core skills and knowledge: Strong interest in cybersecurity areas such as network, cloud, application security or incident response; basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, routing), Windows and Linux operating systems, and common security concepts (authentication, encryption, vulnerabilities, threat modelling).
- Scripting and cloud familiarity: Some experience or exposure to scripting (Python, Bash) or automation is expected; familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus.
- Professional qualities: Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Optional credentials and experience: Certifications or coursework (e.g., Security+, CEH) and prior hands-on labs, CTFs or internships are a bonus but not required.
