Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur: IIT Kanpur’s Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering is inviting email applications for one Research Associate-I under the Centre of Excellence on Innovative and Integrated Ecosystems for Green Hydrogen. Essential qualification and research record
Applicants need a PhD or equivalent degree, or three years of research, teaching, design and development experience after ME or MTech. At least two research publications in SCI-indexed Q1 journals are required. These publication and qualification conditions should be checked together; familiarity with hydrogen technology alone is not a substitute.
Experimental skills
The essential experience covers a strong foundation in physics, chemistry and materials engineering, experimental ability and hands-on SEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and XPS. Electrochemical systems, ceramic processing and sintering are also specified. Candidates must have practical electrochemical characterisation and testing experience under controlled gas atmospheres, including safe handling and use of hydrogen. SOFC fabrication, cell or stack assembly and electrochemical testing are desirable.
Salary and appointment
The consolidated salary is ₹58,000 per month, with 20% HRA if campus accommodation is not provided. HRA is conditional, so it should not be presented as an unconditional cash addition. Appointment is for one year, followed by possible extension based on satisfactory performance. The post is purely temporary and contractual. An online interview does not mean that the job is work from home.
How to apply
Email your CV or biodata and the required supporting information to electroceramicslabiitk@gmail.com. Include educational qualifications with passing year and marks or division, full relevant work and research experience, GATE or JRF details where applicable, and copies of your two best research papers in the relevant area. The application must reach the address by 5 p.m. on 9 November 2026. The visible email text and its underlying email link agree.
Selection and preparation
Shortlisted applicants will be informed and invited to an online interview. The notice does not promise selection merely on meeting minimum conditions. A useful preparation step is to organise evidence of your experimental contribution, publications and safe hydrogen work. Explain your own role accurately and do not submit confidential laboratory material without permission. This is preparation advice, not an additional eligibility condition.
Official application
Read the official notice linked below, verify advertisement 216 and send the complete application to the email address given there. Keep a copy of the sent email and documents. Check the institute page for updates before relying on the deadline.
