Indian Coast Guard CGEPT 01/2027 & 02/2027 Recruitment
Posts: Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), Hygienist-I, Yantrik.
The Indian Coast Guard, under the Ministry of Defence, has issued its Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test notification for batches 01/2027 and 02/2027. Applications are accepted online through the official recruitment portal from 6 October 2026 at 11:00 a.m. until 21 October 2026 at 5:30 p.m. The fresh notification was available through SSC and the official application portal when checked on 6 October.
The recruitment covers Navik General Duty, Yantrik, Navik Domestic Branch and Hygienist-I, with different qualifications and birth-date bands. This is government recruitment, not an internship. Female candidates are eligible for the advertised Navik General Duty vacancies; the notice restricts Yantrik, Navik Domestic Branch and Hygienist-I to male candidates.
Tentative vacancies by batch
| Batch | Post | Tentative vacancies |
|---|---|---|
| 01/2027 | Navik General Duty | 117 male + 13 female |
| 01/2027 | Yantrik Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics | 28 / 23 / 9 |
| 02/2027 | Navik General Duty | 117 male + 13 female |
| 02/2027 | Navik Domestic Branch | 25 |
| 02/2027 | Hygienist-I | 20 |
These published tables add up to 365 tentative vacancies: 190 in the first batch and 175 in the second. This is an arithmetic total of the notice's individual rows, and vacancies may change. Reservation and category-wise details remain governed by the complete official tables.
Male Navik General Duty recruitment is zone-wise across five zones, linked to domicile. Female Navik General Duty, Yantrik, Navik Domestic Branch and Hygienist-I recruitment is on an all-India basis. A reserved-category candidate applying as unreserved because no relevant reserved vacancy exists does not automatically retain the notice's age, marks, fee or travel concessions.
Educational qualifications
- Navik General Duty: Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics from a COBSE-recognised education board.
- Navik Domestic Branch: Class 10 from a COBSE-recognised education board.
- Hygienist-I: Matriculation, ITI or equivalent from a board recognised by the Central or State Government.
- Yantrik: Class 10 plus an AICTE-approved three- or four-year relevant diploma, or Class 10 and Class 12 plus an approved two- or three-year relevant diploma.
Yantrik disciplines include Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics/Telecommunication Radio or Power Engineering. The notice lists equivalent diploma names on its first two pages. Do not assume that every engineering diploma qualifies: check your exact branch, duration and approval against that table. The notification also specifies provisional and original certificate requirements at later recruitment stages.
Birth-date bands and category relaxation
- Navik General Duty, both batches: Born between 1 November 2005 and 1 May 2009.
- Yantrik, batch 01/2027: Born between 1 May 2005 and 1 May 2009.
- Navik Domestic Branch, batch 02/2027: Born between 1 November 2005 and 1 October 2009.
- Hygienist-I, batch 02/2027: Born between 1 November 2002 and 1 October 2009.
The notice provides three years of OBC relaxation and five years for SC/ST, subject to the applicable reserved-category conditions. Use the official birth-date bands and category provisions rather than a generic age headline. Indian citizenship and the other educational, document and medical conditions must also be satisfied.
Selection, physical and medical requirements
Selection includes a computer-based examination, subsequent assessment, document verification, physical fitness and medical checks, followed by training-stage verification and document authentication. The notice describes the examination as bilingual, with no negative marking. Candidates should use the official examination and stage details for preparation, not assume that a written-test result alone ensures appointment.
The physical fitness test includes a 1.6-kilometre run, squats, push-ups and bent-knee sit-ups, completed continuously without a break. Male standards include a 6-minute-30-second run, 20 squats, 15 push-ups and 15 sit-ups. Female standards include an 8-minute run, 15 squats, 10 push-ups and 10 sit-ups.
Medical eligibility is governed by the detailed notice, including height and other standards and applicable relaxations. It states that persons with disabilities are not eligible for these Armed Forces posts. It also contains specific medical restrictions, including pregnancy-related and gender-reassignment-surgery provisions. Applicants should read those conditions directly; Jobsii does not assess an individual's medical eligibility. The notice restricts contracting marriage or keeping family with you during training.
Basic pay and application fee
Navik General Duty, Navik Domestic Branch and Hygienist-I have advertised basic pay of ₹21,700 at Pay Level 3, with applicable dearness and other allowances. Yantrik has basic pay of ₹29,200 at Pay Level 5, plus Yantrik pay of ₹6,200 and applicable allowances. These are basic-pay components, not a guaranteed net take-home calculation.
The examination fee is ₹550. The exemption applies to eligible candidates applying for SC/ST-category vacancies under the notification's conditions; do not assume a blanket exemption for all women or every reserved-category applicant. A successfully paid fee is non-refundable. The notice separately describes automatic refunds for unsuccessful transactions and warns that duplicate payments are not refunded.
How to apply
Use the official portal below, open the advertisement and check your post, qualification, birth-date band and category before registering. Submit accurate marks and legible documents in the prescribed formats. Only one post may be applied for; multiple applications are subject to the notice's latest-application rule, without refund of earlier fees. Retain the submitted application and payment confirmation.
Finish before 21 October 2026 at 5:30 p.m. Do not rely on a midnight deadline. Read the full notice and any official updates because summaries cannot reproduce every document, examination, reservation and medical provision.
Open the official Indian Coast Guard CGEPT recruitment portal and apply. The portal's bilingual advertisement provides the complete conditions.
