Role and responsibilities
The Script Writer at Peblo shapes narrative-driven, curriculum-aligned learning experiences for children. Responsibilities include:
- Voiceover scripts: write for animated lessons, onboarding journeys and AI tutor dialogues ensuring clarity, tone and timing for young learners.
- Interactive story scenes: script dialogue, player choices, feedback paths and scene actions in collaboration with game designers and animators to support branching gameplay and learning outcomes.
- Educational adaptation: convert concepts across subjects (English, Science, EVS, Math, etc.) into child-friendly language without oversimplifying, preserving academic integrity while making content accessible.
- In-app copy: craft prompts, rewards, nudges, progress updates and UI microcopy that motivate, guide and reward learners within the playable learning universe.
- Collaboration and alignment: work closely with curriculum experts and instructional designers to ensure scripts meet academic goals and maintain consistent tone and emotional arc across characters and modules.
- AI-assisted workflows: use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and GrammarlyGO to generate variations, localizations, difficulty levels or drafts to accelerate iteration.
- Quality and testing: participate in creative reviews, test user flows and update content based on child and user feedback, keeping tone, pacing and emotional resonance consistent.
Requirements, nice-to-have skills and who can apply
Peblo seeks candidates with relevant experience and the right creative and technical sensibilities:
- Experience: writing for EdTech, children’s content, games, entertainment or interactive media with a portfolio that ideally includes dialogue, explainers or educational writing.
- Skillset: ability to write with empathy, simplicity and narrative rhythm for young learners (classes 1–8); strong command of English with attention to tone, pacing and clarity.
- Technical comfort: experience with branching scripts, voice timing and animation cues; familiarity or interest in using AI tools to assist scripting, editing and content expansion.
- Curriculum familiarity: familiarity with Indian K–10 curriculum (CBSE/ICSE) is a plus.
- Nice to have: background in children’s publishing, eLearning or animated series writing; experience with visual storyboarding or writing for voice-overs; comfort writing for bilingual/multilingual contexts (Hindi, regional languages).
