About IIT Madras Summer Fellowship Programme 2026

The IITM Summer Fellowship Programme aims to encourage meritorious students to explore research as a career option by engaging them in goal-oriented summer projects. Selected fellows work closely with IIT Madras faculty, gaining first-hand experience of academic rigor, research methodologies, and problem-solving at a national centre of excellence.

This programme is particularly valuable for students planning to pursue higher studies (MTech/PhD/MBA/Research careers) in India or abroad.

Programme Duration & Timeline

• Programme Duration: 18 May 2026 – 17 July 2026

• Total Length: 2 months (maximum)

Stipend & Facilities

💰 Stipend

• ₹15,000 per month

• Payable for a maximum of 2 months

• Prorated based on the actual duration of stay at IIT Madras

🏠 Hostel & Mess

• Hostel and mess facilities are available on a paid basis

• Allotment is subject to availability
