BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus has opened applications for the BITS Goa Summer Research Program (BGSRP) 2026 — an offline summer internship/research opportunity for academically outstanding and highly motivated UG/PG students (Indian nationality). Selected candidates will work on a specific project under the guidance of a BITS Goa faculty member for the full program duration.
Important note: BGSRP is a competitive program with limited projects and therefore limited selections. Also, no financial support/honorarium is provided by the institute for this program.

About BGSRP (What You’ll Do)
BGSRP provides a platform for students pursuing Graduation/Post-Graduation/Research programs in relevant disciplines to interact with scientists and engineers at BITS Goa. During the internship, selected students work on defined “project problems” under the supervision of a faculty member. At the end, participants must submit a project report and deliver a final presentation/seminar in the department.
Tip: Before applying, review the official BGSRP project problems list and shortlist projects aligned with your interests and background.
Eligibility Criteria (Official)
- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Candidate must be pursuing UG/PG from a recognized university/institution (India/Abroad).
- Recent graduates who completed UG/PG within six months from the date of award of degree can also apply (for profile enhancement).
- Minimum 60% aggregate OR CGPA 6.32/10 at all academic levels.
- Applications encouraged from:
- Engineering: CS&IS, EEE, Chemical, Mechanical
- Sciences: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics
- Humanities & Social Sciences
- Economics & Finance and related subjects
- Preference is given to KVPY/DST INSPIRE fellows.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)
- Apply online using the official application form link provided on the BGSRP page.
- Arrange a bonafide certificate from your Principal/HOD/Institute Director and upload it while submitting your application.
- Arrange a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from your HOD/Dean/Principal/Teacher. The recommender must email it to:bgsrpquery@goa.bits-pilani.ac.in
- LOR file naming format:
XXX_BGSRP2026_LOR.pdf(where XXX = candidate’s first name in CAPITAL letters). - Important: Applications are evaluated only if submitted with the bonafide certificate + LOR. Incomplete applications are not processed further.
Selection & Evaluation (What Happens After You Apply)
- Final selection is decided by the concerned faculty member based on eligibility and project requirements.
- Selected students must report to the respective department at BITS Goa as instructed.
- At the end of the internship, students must:
- Submit a project report
- Deliver a final presentation/seminar
- A completion certificate is issued subject to delivering the final seminar and receiving supervisor endorsement.
Costs, Hostel & Facilities (Important)
- No stipend / no financial support is provided for BGSRP 2026.
- Hostel accommodation is available on a paid basis:
- Approx. ₹6000–₹7000 for the summer stay (highly subsidised; special summer concession).
- Mess facility is available on payment basis. The daily mess rate is mentioned as TBA on the official page.
- Program does NOT cover medical and transport expenses.
Key Rules You Must Follow
- Temporary ID cards will be issued; keep them visible on campus.
- You must take prior permission for any absence; violations can lead to termination.
- You must follow all rules and regulations of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
- You cannot publish/use project results or submit articles to conferences/journals without written permission from the project guide/supervisor.
- Evaluation at BITS Goa cannot be used as your college/university degree assessment; follow your university’s norms separately for academic evaluation.
